Lab Methods Cell & Molecular
This course will provide students with experiential learning in methods and techniques
that underpin cell and molecular biology, and genetics research. Examples of techniques
that may be covered include, bacterial culture and transformation, PCR-based analyses,
protein expression and isolation, DNA and protein electrophoresis, Western blotting,
microscopy, phenotypic analyses and others. The course consists of a 1-hour theory-based
session accompanied by a 5-hour lab. Cross-listed with CH341.
Prerequisites: BI226, BI236, BI276.
