This course follows and builds on the concepts from CH130 and prepares students for higher-level studies in the various subdisciplines of chemistry as well other university disciplines. Topics covered include properties of solutions, rates of chemical reactions, equilibria, entropy, free energy and electrochemistry. Prerequisites: CH130. Exclusions: CH111, CH121. Registration Notes: Students pursuing the following degrees must take this first year chemistry course: Honours BSc Chemistry, Honours BSc Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Honours BSc, Chemistry and Biology, Honours BSc Chemistry and Mathematics, Honours BSc Chemistry and Physics. 3 lecture hours, 3 lab hours.
