Orchestration
Orchestration introduces concepts and develops techniques of scoring music for various combinations of musical mediums,
including strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and voices. The course focuses on practices for orchestration, arranging,
and transcription. Discussion includes terms and practices for various instruments, including how they work and sound,
special techniques, transposition of instruments, and special clefs and notation.
Prerequisites: MU242 or MU264* or MU266, or permission of the instructor.
