Drawing on critical race theory and studies of ethnicity, this course examines social diversity in Canada with an emphasis on race and ethnic relations. Topics include representations of racial difference, institutional racism, colonialism, and policies of immigration and multiculturalism.† Prerequisites: SY101 and one of: AN237, or GS101, SY207 (or SY203*), SY204*, SY210, SY338, WS100. Exclusions: SY202*, CT/HR355.
