In this first experiential placement, each student works together with another student music therapist to facilitate group music therapy sessions under the supervision of a qualified music therapy supervisor. Students also attend weekly small group or dyadic supervision meetings, which focus upon developing clinical musicianship, planning sessions, conducting assessments, writing goals, and problem-solving clinical issues that arise, all as directly applied to the placement itself. Students also engage in activities designed to cultivate professionalism, expand ethical thinking and foster their capacities for reflexivity. Prerequisites: Year 3 standing in the music therapy program. Co-requisites: MU352, MU364.
